Dive Spots

There are a plethora of excellent spots along the Juneau road system. From photography opportunities to hunting, here are some of my favorite spots.

There are many more and I don’t list them all so you can also enjoy exploring the unknown. Please reach out if you are unsure of an area and I’d be happy to talk. No hardcore locals hiding their spots here!

Auke Rec

Three vessels were sunk by the local scuba club at freedive depths (8m to 18m depending on tide). Just head out to Auke Recreation area. Two ships are located near these coordinates:

Reach out for a map of the area.

Amalga Harbor

Rocky drop offs, large groups of stellar sea lions (in the fall and winter), and plenty of sea life. One of my favorite spots in southeast Alaska.

Sunshine Cove

Some current, steep drop offs, and large animals are the name of the game here. Park at Sunshine cove parking area 40 minutes north on Glacier Highway and hike 10 minutes west out to the point. You won’t regret it.
